Facing the first holiday season without her husband, Tucson resident Sylvia Neal agonized over the family’s annual Christmas card tradition.
Her husband, Derek, had died of nonsmokers’ lung cancer at the age of 42 only months earlier — on Aug. 10, 2013.
The Neal family’s Christmas card always had a photo of the four of them on the front. It was an annual tradition. So last season, Neal had cards made with a photo of herself and her two young children on the front.
